Reserving Seats
Seats may be reserved for any public show at the Elkader Cinema, if the following requirements are met:

1.  The seats must be paid for in advance.  There is a $0.25 per seat fee for reserving seats, so each reserved seat will cost
the full admission price for the show, plus $0.25  Since we now accept credit cards, you may do this over the phone!

2.  No phone reservations will be taken if a line has already formed at the theater.  This cannot be used as a way to jump up
to the front of the line, or we'll have people in back of the line calling on their cell phones!  Please call in reservations at least
45 minutes prior to show time, to be safe.  If we are busy serving customers, we will not answer the phone as show time
approaches.  Sorry!

3.  No more than 40 seats can be reserved per show, total.  So, you may not reserve more than 40 seats, and if there are
already seats reserved prior to your request, yours and the prior reservations must total 40 or less.

If you want to reserve a lot of seats, like 40 or more, you might want to consider scheduling your own private show.  Actually,
you may schedule a private show with
any number of seats.  Click here to find out more.

If your plans change, you may request refunds up to 30 minutes prior to show time.  However, within 30 minutes of show
time, reserved seats are non-refundable.

We try very hard to set reasonable guidelines and to be fair and consistent.  Please do not call us, give us your name, and
expect that we can simply save you seats.  It gets crazy here when it's really busy, and the best way to keep track of seats
booked is to let the computer do it by selling the seats in the system.  FYI, we do not retain your credit card information.  We
type it into the computer, use it for the transaction, and do not see it again.
If you prefer not to give our credit card information over the phone, we respect that, but at the same time we ask that you respect our rule that all
reserved seats must be paid for in advance.  If you prefer, you may purchase
an Elkader Cinema gift card to use over the phone to purchase and
reserve seats.   Of course you can purchase tickets here in-person during business hours as well.

In 2010, out of over 800 total shows, we sold out 16 times.  So, our auditorium size is generally quite adequate to serve our customers.  However, if
you chose one of those 16 shows, you might have been disappointed.  If you are driving a long distance, you might want to purchase early and
reserve your seats, just to be safe.
